Eligibility Criteria

2. Business Experience
You must have at least 3 years of ownership or management experience in a successful business. The business can be in trading, services, or manufacturing.
3. Business and Personal Assets
- You must have net business and personal assets of at least AUD 1.25 million, legally acquired and transferable to Australia within 2 years of the visa being granted.
- You must have had a business turnover of at least AUD 750,000 in at least 2 of the last 4 fiscal years before applying.
4. Points Test
You need to score at least 65 points on the Business Innovation and Investment Points Test. Points are awarded based on age, business experience, net assets, business turnover, English proficiency, and innovation.
5. Age
You must be under 55 years of age, although exceptions may apply if your business proposal is of exceptional economic benefit to the nominating state or territory.
6. Business Commitment
You must demonstrate a genuine intention to live in Australia and actively participate in your business operations.
Pathway to Permanent Residency
After holding the 188A visa and successfully running your business for at least 2 years, you may be eligible to apply for the Subclass 888A permanent visa. This requires meeting certain business performance benchmarks, including minimum turnover and asset maintenance.
